Hi Linsi,
The following inputs are just my "personal opinion". I have to state it clear so people may not misintepret my opinion as Catholic doctrine.
1. The angels in heaven have beatific vision with God. This means that they are in the presence of God, see God, and their will is in unison/union with God.
2. There may be many reason to rebel against God. One theory which i suscribe is when the angels were granted beatific vision of God - the angels saw the Blessed Trinity (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit).
I feel that Lucifer thought that by seeing God he was able to figure out the mystery behind the power of God. Lucifer thought he could be like God. And this was compounded by seeing the 2nd Person of the Trinity (God the Son) who took the form of Man. "Man" being an inferiors creature to angels.
Thus, the angels rebelled without fearing of "judgement" nor a 2nd death because they feel they are better than "Man". The angels could not accept that God the Son took the form of Man - and angels being superior than man led them to think they are better than God (the fallen angles).
But of course, this is just a personal opinion.

so convinced ka na ngayon? may holy spirit ang tao at wala ay pwede magkasala nang dahil sa free will? HAHAHA, nadali mo ko doon ah. Mahirap talaga ang nagpost ng puyat. Anyway, ang argument ata natin dun is whether adam and eve have the holy spirit prior to their fall and i responded na wala ata because kung meron di magkakasala ang lolo at lola natin tama ba? Yes, even if we have a holy spirit or not, man can commit sin because he is flesh kaya ibinigay ang verse na ito: Gen 6:3 "And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. But still i do believe that adam and eve have no holy spirit inside them prior to their fall. Balik tayo sa konsenya sa kabila...we'll be messing this thread if we have to tackle about human beings here... dun kita uli sasagutin a...

Hi Linsi, The nature of angels are different. They have a superior intellect and their will is already atuned with God. This is the reason why Lucifer and the others were judged right away during their fall. Hotty, Malinaw si Lucifer ay ginawang mabuti bago ang "fall". All angels were by nature good and was created good. The transformation from good angels into dark angels happened because they decided to disobey God. Part of the nature of angels (unlike men) is that their nature is already atuned with God. The moment there is rejection of God, judgement and punishment is immediate. And when we say intrinsically evil, it means from the very start of creation, this being was already created evil. Wala naman ginawang masama o evil ang Diyos. Okie kuyang... Kala ko naman created evil from the very start na sinasabi nyo ay from the very start create nang evil ni LOrd si Lucifer.... malinaw na.. Malinaw na tales about GOd and angels para alam natin kung anong simula ba... kumbakit nag-rebelde si Lucifer kay LORD... hirap na hula-hula lang tayo...

Hi Linsi,
Lucifer enjoyed the privilege of beatific vision or seeing God face to face in His glory. He may have seen the vision of Blessed Trinity and could not accept the 2nd person which could also accounts for Lucifer's hatred for man.
Anyway, it is just a personal theory.
