remember also that the people who influenced the crucifixion of Jesus Christ are Jews...
that's the reason why there was a time when Catholics (research about the Crusades) and certain Christian domination (Lutherans I think) also condemn Jews..Martin Luther King used to love the Jews but he began to hate them when the Jews insisted that Jesus is not their Messiah..and that Jesus was responsible for His own death on the cross..
at those difficult times, would u consider them as favorities? of all people, they were chosen to carry out God's plan, but they crucified their Messiah...
and truly generations and generations of Jews also suffered because of the single bad decision (of being the nation who crucified Christ)..
maybe it also was the reason why Jesus sweated blood just before the crucifixion upon learning that it was the Jews who will deliver His brutal death on the cross..
imagine your favorite child or favorite niece/nephew doing that to you...

mr Exdobal--at a spiritual level naman po..I would say that Jews are not God's favorite, they are God's chosen people to fulfill His plan of salvation...to fulfill His promise to that nation...
nangako Sya kay Abraham--and He fulfills every promise He makes.. He also promised to you and me that never again will the world be destroyed by a flood,..and He will fulfill that promise to you and me,,, whether or not you obey him. " God knew you even before you were born"-- Speaking of favoritism--will you consider Jews as favorites at the time when they were being persecuted by the Germans? hindi di ba? will you consider them as favorites when they were being thrown out of their lands...when each nation surrounding them is making war with them.. will you consider them a favorite, if you know that when God punishes the Jews, it is a heavier punishment than every one else's??
they are God chosen people--but they are not immune to punishment...they are not immune to suffering.. as much as my daughter is a favorite (kasi nagiisa lang sya hehehe)--- she is not immune to discpilne. The Jews are God chosen people to fulfill His plan and God is giving them lessons kabi-kabilaan for them to learn that they are part of the plan and that the only way for them to finally see their Messiah is to acknowledge that their Messiah already came to them in the flesh 2000 years ago.. and that their Messiah is coming back again.. once they acknowledge that...that is the time when they will be used as God's chosen people to evangelize the world... right now there are only 4 tribes in Israel who believe that Jesus is their Messiah and they are called Messianic Jews... in Revelations--the prophesy says that the 12 tribes of Israel (12,000 Jews out of each 12 tribes = 144,000 Jews) will preach Jesus is the Messiah in all 4 corners of the earth....and at that time only will the world acknowledge their 1 true God.. the challenge now is..there are only 4 tribes left in Israel who are Messianic...the other 8 tribes nasaan sila??? they are scattered across the globe-- so paano sila babalik sa Israel to form that 12 Messianic tribes? I do not know.. here is another news: all of the Wall Street world players who fell are Jews (Lehman Brothers, Morgan Chase, Meril Lynch)--if they are God's chosen people or God's favorite-- bakit sila bumagsak?? hindi kaya dahil sini-shake ni God ang mga senses nila--for them to wake up? that they have a role to play in God's kingdom and the whole world is waiting for them to acknowledge that Jesus is their Messiah....once that happens.. God's plan is close to fulfillment... so yes, they are God's chosen people or you can say God's favorite,,, but the heaviest of responsibilities are in their shoulders.. every non- Christian nation is against them (except for Bush's government--Obama would be another matter)...while the Christian nations depend on them for the fulfillment of God's promise--they are chosen--and we depend on them.. and again mrexdobal, when you feel that God does not favor, it is just a feeling, the truth remains the truth, regardless of your feeling... In fact, the roots of Christianity is in Judaism di po ba?
God constantly reminded the Jewish people, who were called Israelites in the Old Testament of their freedom from slavery. He was the same God that commanded the people to worship Him and obey all of His commandments and walk in His judgements. Even though God's people has disobeyed the Lord, they have been forgiven by Him after they repented and returned to Him. They are God's people by covenant. To Abram (Abraham), He said that He will make of him a great nation. (Genesis 12:2) He has also said that He will bless those who bless them and curse those that curse Israel. (Gen. 12:3) Throughout history, every nation that has oppressed or cursed the Jewish people are either no longer in existence or have had to suffer various consequences as a result. Two examples that come to mind are Germany and ancient Egypt.
at marami pang iba.

mrEX,
alam mo pala sagot sa tanong mo at bibanasa mo naman ang Bibiliya mo..but this topic is close to my heart nowadays, as I studied the book of Daniel and Isaiah--while I try to cross refer to the NEw Testament..
why Isaiah is my favorite book now adays?? Isaiah is the one who propheised about the coming of John the Baptist---and the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh===which already happened!!
BUT!!! there is one person that Isaiah prophesied about who is not a Jew but rather a pagan-- Cyrus the Great-- Isaiah prophesied that this person will bring the fall of Babylon and it happened!!
"what does it mean then?? God chooses certain nations as well as He chooses individual/s to accomplish a MISSION"!!
Isaiah also prophesied a lot of other things that is yet to happen--and can be cross-referred in Revelations...and in Isaiah's prophesy, the Jewish people is always at the helm...
ngayon ang tanong po--anong role natin? di naman tayo Jew? di tayo special ganun ba yun? o baka naman iba ang mission para sa atin? and it is for us to see it from God's perspective and not ours..if there are things we cannot understand--and it burdens us to the point that you have to ask fellow Christians--its maybe because God is causing that restlessness in you---so that you will call on Him for the answers--that you will intimately pray that God will awaken that wisdom in you, which He have already provided to you when you accepted Him, at the time of your salvation..
Peace bro!

one thing that I learned from all this, is that God's salvation or favor does not depend on you doing good works or you being the most upright person in the world. He makes decisions based on grace (undeserved blessing)-- meaning we do not deserve it yet, He still gives us a blessing..
please read Galatians 3:26 po...
imagine this -- Israel (as in the Jewish nation) and the Church (as in the Christian world) being ONE in CHRIST!

The greatest story ever told about a father and his sons is about something much deeper, truer and more beautiful than performance: unconditional love. All who believe are children of God. What we are called on to do is just be grateful, believe it, enjoy it, embrace it, and reject the lie that God cares more about how we look than who we are.
that no matter how badly we perform in humanity's scorecard, God will keep His promise. He is a God with integrity who keeps His promise. He will keep the promise He made to Israel, the promise He made to Abraham and the promise He made to those who chose to believe in Him.

Thank you for your explanation ruth, but remember this when it says Exodus 13:2 Sanctify unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine.
Exodus 22:29 Thou shalt not delay to offer the first of thy ripe fruits, and of thy liquors: the firstborn of thy sons shalt thou give unto me.
"Then you shall say to Pharaoh, 'Thus says the LORD, "Israel is My son, My firstborn. Remember how God dealt importance to all firstborn. Israel is God's firstborn.

Again, it will always go back to my post from the first page of this thread as stated in Genesis 3:15 a prophecy that has been fulfilled about the coming of the Messiah
"I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring [fn] and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel."
The scripture also serves as my very point that not all mankind are children of God for the verse itself refers to two distinct seeds. It could also be argued that the seeds of Lucifer had been there even before Adam & Eve bore their first children(seeds).
Also, a personal man is created in the image of a Personal God. Thus, God cares so much more for His own children than the children of others; But it does not mean that God is not fair. How many times did I cite about Noah, Canaanites, Jericho et al.?
Even though they were from the seeds of evil, still God through His children had given them warnings and ample time to change their way of thinking and beliefs. To no avail, they were all hard-headed fellows and the children inadvertently succumbed & yielded to their parents' overpowering desire. Yet again, God being fair used the lesser of two evils in saving the innocents as stated in the Book of Jeremiah which I'll be tackling soon in the other thread with regard to God's defeat of Evil.

It seems that some have difficulties acknowledging the fact that Israel is a chosen nation and can therefore be named as a favorite according to their bible.

2nd Peter 2:2 Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute.
I posted Genesis 3:15 twice previously and I am still wondering of what is there not to understand. You tried so hard to be rational as if you have an understanding of what reality truly is in this matter. Will you favor your neighbour's sons(offsrings) or would you rather favor your own offsprings(sons) in their upbringing?
Tell me who would yu favor? [/color][/b]

[/color][/b][/quote] this is typical of someone who is cornered and someone who knew that what we are trying to say makes sense, but for all his pride he cannot accept it.. I can sincerely see that he understood--he just cant admit that he still needs to learn more as much as we do.. there are limitations to human's wisdom...tap into God's wisdom Rafael--receive His offer salvation and all this shall be yours too, but wisdom cannot be demonstrated unless it is called for or if there is a need... we are only given or apportioned wisdome at the time of need...and I truly believe that the only way to tap into it is to pray and Give up all your pretenses and assumptions and open yourself up to God's guidance... then read the Bible (in its context)--ask God what His message for you-- if you are reading the Bible from a philosophical standpoint--better not read it at all..

Dear Mr. Raf,
My Friend, it doesn't make any sense at all!
If you choose your Freewill with that philosophy, we can respect that. We are not here to please you nor force you into believing what is right or wrong, it was not by force, it's our own freewill, our job is to share the Word of God, to encourage people...
Can you please enlighten us, share with us about your stand... papano nga ba tayo mag me meet sa gitna without arguing but just a plain sharing... pano nga ba...
Psalms 119:108 Accept, I beseech thee, the freewill offerings of my mouth, O LORD, and teach me thy judgments.
ONE MEDIATOR…….
1 timothy 2:5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,
Now it's up to you if you accept Jesus Christ and believe that He is the Son of the Living God, according to His Word then we will be saved... Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
eto po ilang beses ko na inu ulit ulit dahil naniniwala ako na ang Word of God is like a Double Edged Sword at sinasabi pa na Every Knee Shall Bow and Every Toungue Shall Confess that JESUS CHRIST IS LORD...
Philippians 2:10 so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
Romans 14:11 For it is written, "AS I LIVE, SAYS THE LORD, EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW TO ME, AND EVERY TONGUE SHALL GIVE PRAISE TO GOD."
Whosoever Deny Jesus Christ……..
Mathews 10:33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father who is in heaven
Whosoever Believed…
John 3:36 The one who believes in the Son has eternal life, but the one who refuses to believe in the Son will not see life; instead, the wrath of God remains on him.
A Blessed Day Raf,
God Bless Us All...

I can see more sense in Supremo's answers. Go back to his posts and maybe both you, migy and ruth will learn. I am reading about God's chosen nation who happens to be Israel and there must not be any contradiction among gentiles about it. So what if your God chose Israel? What is it to you? But there must be a reason.

I just noticed one thing on your side, you just keep on ignoring questions that you cannot answer/reply back...
We can agree that Supremo's answers has it sense, and you cannot doubt about it. He as well is lifting up Jesus Christ as His Lord and Savior...
But the thing is you just can't reply on majority questions in you... in fairness to others, How about replying and giving me some encouragements... can you do that for me?Do you accept Jesus as Lord and Savior of Men, then; how can you do your part of encouraging us, give us some thoughts on what dya believe, how can you convince us to understand your thoughts and beliefs... Pls. tell me! [glow=yellow,2,300][shadow=red,left,300]Again, pano mo kami mahihikayat sa Paniniwala mo...[/glow][/shadow] I can see more sense in Supremo's answers. hi leanne,
sa aking pananaw naman, we have been chosen already and we are like a spiritual jews/israel nation...
Galatians 3:26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 4:7 Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
Romans 8:17 and if children, then heirs--heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
Galatians 3:29 And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. King James Version...
Galatians 3:29 You who belong to Christ are Abraham's seed. You will receive what God has promised.
according to His Word, tagapag mana na rin tayo at ipinangako pa niya yan... therefore sa paniniwala ko, we are spiritual jews/israelites...
hope i have shared encouragements....
God Bless leanne,

Matthew 16:26, "For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?" Our soul is the part of us that is going to continue to live on forever throughout all eternity. We cannot afford to lose our soul and be eternally punished.[/b]

Eniwey, WHY NOT ASIANS?
An atheist once asked me this same line of questioning and my recollection just made me wonder as to how a smart-speaking person miscalculate his argument without the knowledge of History & Geography in him.
VOW!

Since you are having a hard time understanding a very simple Bible verse. Again! Let me show a method used in preparatory school called replacement game in order for nursery students or younglings to have a faster grasp in comprehension.
Bible Verse Gen 3:15: "I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; ..."
- "I will put enmity between you and my daughter, and between your children and her children; ..."
- "I will put enmity between you and Eve, and between your offspring and and her offspring; ..."
- "I will put enmity between you and Noah, and between your offspring and his offspring; ..."
- "I will put enmity between you and Abraham, and between your offspring and his tribes; ..."
- "I will put enmity between you and Israel, and between your offspring and her children; ..."
- "I will put enmity between you and the Jews, and between your followers and her faithfuls;
With these placard in your sight, who do you think God favors? If you have been reading them and understanding them thoroughly as if it is your first time to operate a microwave, you will learn that God favors Israel from the lineage of Adam & Eve because of the fulfillment of what is stated in the Book of Galatians 4:4 or in Matthew 1:20.
Now, tell us Rafael on why God favors Israel?

Eniwey, WHY NOT ASIANS?
An atheist once asked me this same line of questioning and my recollection just made me wonder as to how a smart-speaking person miscalculate his argument without the knowledge of History & Geography in him.
VOW!
