The first phase of this post is about the meaning of the Hebrew word "Dor", which is simply translated to mean "generation. The Hebrew word is used 167 times in the Hebrew Bible and to obtain the true understanding of this word and as to how passages need better clarity, every scripture needs to be meditated with our heart, soul and mind.
A generation is time from one birth to the birth of the next generation and the Hebrew word Dor has the same meaning. During the Greco-Roman culture, we see time as a line with a beginning and an end while the Eastern Thinking(Hebrew Mind) sees time as a continuous circle - there is no beginning and no end.
Genesis 7:1 And YHWH said to Noah, Come into the ark, you and all your house; for you have I seen you righteous before me in this generation. 9:12 And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: 15:16 But in the fourth generation they shall come here again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full. 17:7 And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your seed after you in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God to you, and to your seed after you. 17:9 And God said to Abraham, You shall keep my covenant therefore, you, and your seed after you [u[in their generations[/u]. [/i] 17:12 And he who is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every male child in your generations, he who is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, who is not of your seed.
